Microsoft Office 2007 update beats release target Microsoft said Tuesday that it has released the first major update of its Office 2007 productivity software at least one month ahead of its projected target. The software maker said Office 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) will crash less, is easier to use and is more secure than the original program that was released to consumers in January. Clinton's confidence dwindles as aides face her campaign's possible ...
The US is in a serious crisis now. A strong and capable leader is more needed than ever. One should remember history. Germany elected Adolf Hitler in the aftermath of horrible hyper-inflation and wide-spread domestic discontent. What Hitler did to Germany and to Europe is not something to easily write off as "old" world. It would be too costly to write off Obama one day. It would be just too late. G W Bush already made enough serious mistakes, thanks to those who voted him in, and the Supreme Court judges who voted him in. .

YO, AMIGO! ROMNEY TAPS TANCREDO
It's worth noting that on the eve of the big debate here in New Hampshire, Team Romney rolled out also-ran Tom Tancredo, the hardline Colorado congressman whose entire – albeit pretty brief – presidential campaign was based on one issue: Stopping illegal immigration. The Romney campaign sent out a special reminder to reporters about the news conference, at which Tancredo and law enforcement officials were to “contrast Gov. Romney's record and proposals to end illegal immigration with that of other candidates." It was a direct shot at rival John McCain, who angered a lot of Republicans by advancing an immigration reform plan that some people called an amnesty program: "John McCain is not simply part of the problem. John McCain is the reason we have the problem," sniped Tancredo at the presser, according to a transcript provided by the Romney campaign.
62 Percent of Americans Believe Illness Could Pose Financial Hardship
Nearly two out of three Americans (62 percent) say they or their family could face hard financial times if they experience a serious illness, a new national CreditCards.com poll finds. The poll, conducted for CreditCards.com by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media, surveyed 1,004 American adults in a random telephone survey Jan. 18-20, 2008. It is part of a newly released special report, "Health Care and Credit," in which CreditCards.com takes an in-depth look at how Americans increasingly turn to credit and fall into debt to pay for health care. In addition to the poll, the special report examines how the health care industry is changing as out-of-pocket medical costs rise dramatically for many American families. "This is an issue that hits home for almost every American family as they try to figure out how to pay medical bills," said CreditCards.com Vice President of Strategic Marketing Jody Farmer.

Hollywood is getting hit where it hurts
Some people in Los Angeles are finally having to cut back on the bare necessities of life. I hear there has been a precipitous drop in business for tanning salons, trichologists and pet astrologers. The already unstable property market in the city is looking as shaky as the earth-quake-prone ground the properties stand on. A television producer told me that he has even made his wife stop her Botox injections. This measure has had the dual benefit of cutting doctor’s fees and shopping bills since his wife now won’t leave the house with her face in its natural state. .
